The Bachelorette Season 16, Episode 3: Best moment #2: Chat with DeAnna

Our first girl chat of the season! Usually, the season kicks off with an appearance by a former Bachelorette or Bachelorette, but this season did not, and I was disappointed! But never fear, DeAnna is here!

DeAnna Pappas is one of my all-time favorite Bachelorettes, and it was so nice to see someone who qualifies as “vintage” in this franchise! It makes sense that Clare and DeAnna would know each other, but since their seasons were so far apart, I’ll admit I was not aware they were close friends.

This conversation really brought out a nice side of Clare. She seems to regard men with suspicion and distrust a lot of the time, which puts her on her guard. Seeing her around a girlfriend brought out a less guarded, more relaxed side of her! I’m betting Clare and DeAnna spent the whole afternoon sitting around drinking wine, and that’s why the day portion of the group date had to be canceled.

I kind of wish DeAnna would just stick around to be the resident confidant throughout the season, but from what we’ve seen that won’t be necessary. Thank you for quarantining to be on the show, DeAnna!
