The Bachelor: Kim Kardashian and the 5 biggest celebrity fans
Ah, celebrities–they’re just like us. They, too, enjoy turning off their brains once a week so they can call themselves fans of The Bachelor.
Okay, so maybe celebrities get to do this from the comfort of their fifth mansion, but hey, at least they have something in common with the plebeian masses when it comes to The Bachelor. For the show’s contestants, it must be crazy to go from living normal lives to being recognized by the most famous people in America. But after all, the desire to get overly invested in the love lives of strangers is universal, no matter which tax bracket you’re in.
The list of celebrities who watch The Bachelor is long, but here are five of the biggest fans:
Demi Lovato
Last year, Demi was clearly a fan of The Bachelorette, and especially of one of Season 15’s most popular contestants, Mike Johnson. She posted plenty of commentary on Hannah Brown’s messy season on her Instagram Stories, and it was clear that Mike was her favorite early on, as she wrote that she would “accept [his] rose.” The two actually connected over social media once Mike’s elimination aired, but things never went further than a few dates. Oh, well – maybe Demi can use Clare/Tayshia’s season to scope out a new boo?
Jennifer Aniston
The iconic Friends actress definitely keeps up with Bachelor Nation, and she’s not afraid to share her takes. Back in January, when The Bachelor Season 24 started airing, she criticized the producers’ decision to have Bachelor Peter Weber rehash his past with his ex Hannah Brown, saying “they’re just using these poor women.” Jen was probably right, but also, can we go back to the days when Hannah and Peter’s unresolved feelings were the most dramatic things going on in our lives?
Kim Kardashian West
Watch parties are a staple of Bachelor Nation culture, but for most of us, a watch party probably means cramming onto the couch with friends and yelling at the TV around mouthfuls of Ben & Jerry’s. For Kim K, a watch party means ordering three custom cakes decorated with the faces of Peter Weber and his final two women, Hannah Ann Sluss and Madison Prewett. A little extra? Maybe. But how many of us would do the exact same thing if we had the money? Be honest.
John Mulaney
Okay, so I actually have no idea if John Mulaney still watches this show, but I’m putting him on the list because a) I love him, and b) he’s responsible for two of my favorite Bachelor-related Tweets of all time. In 2018, during the finale of Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette, he tweeted simply:
Not only are these Tweets hilarious in their brevity, but they’re also prophetic now that Becca and her winner, Garret Yrigoyen, have parted ways. BRB, starting a petition for John Mulaney to pop up and advise every Bachelorette before she makes her pick.
Sarah Hyland
For the Modern Family actress, watching The Bachelorette resulted in an incredible love story. When she first fangirled over Season 12 contestant Wells Adams on Twitter in 2016, she probably had no idea they would ever meet – but meet they did, and they began dating in 2017.
Three years later, Wells and Sarah are engaged, though their wedding plans are on hold because of the coronavirus. Still, it’s pretty amazing that a night spent live-Tweeting The Bachelorette led to a real relationship – I guess that’s what I’ll remind myself when I waste hours per week watching this show.
