Curiosity got the best of Clare Crawley before filming began on The Bachelorette, with Clare admitting to googling Dale Moss and all the men of season 16.

2020 has been quite an interesting year for Bachelor Nation.

While production on season 16 of The Bachelorette was originally slated to begin in March, Clare Crawley’s search for love hit an unexpected snag when production was forced to shut down due to the ongoing pandemic. As a result, Clare and the men originally cast for the season were sent back home for several months before production was able to safely resume months later in July.

It was an unprecedented moment in Bachelor franchise history and one which created quite a unique set of circumstances. While typically, the Bachelorette or Bachelor meets their suitors and embarks on their journey right away, Clare had to put her search for love on pause for roughly four months knowing the men selected to appear on her season were out there waiting for their chance to finally connect.

Although production has certain rules in place to prevent contestants from fraternizing before filming, Clare couldn’t resist the urge to google the men of her season — including frontrunner Dale Moss.

Bachelorette Clare Crawley spied on Dale Moss and season 16 bachelors

Following the highly anticipated season 16 premiere, Clare Crawley dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live where she revealed to ABC’s late night host / Bachelor superfan that she had indeed couldn’t help herself from googling the men on her cast before production resumed in July.

"“I Googled all the men that were going to be on the season. Took lots of notes,” Clare candidly confessed to Kimmel. “I think the whole world or anybody who was involved in the Bachelor Nation spied on these guys.”"

Interestingly, while Clare did not name names, she let it be known that her internet sleuthing did color her opinion of certain men due in part to some of the many red flags she came across.

"“There were definitely things that I saw that were red flags,” Clare revealed. “For example, I’m not a drinker at all and some of the guys were boozing it up, partying, doing backflips off of boats and I was like, ‘Is that my husband? Probably not.'”"

Clare’s sleuthing also helped put some men on her radar very early on including Dale Moss, who Clare admits embodies many of the values and qualities she was hoping to find in a man entering the season.

"“I knew [Dale] was one of the guys that was on cast for earlier this season when it was supposed to air earlier,” Clare noted. “Being able to look him up, there was just a lot of things that aligned with what I’m looking for that he kind of embodied.”"

Clearly Dale made a strong impression on Clare before their first official introduction on the show, which was a moment that has left Bachelor Nation buzzing.

It’s clear there’s a spark between the two and we’ll be interested to see how their connection progresses as the season goes along. One thing that’s certain is Clare is remaining tight-lipped about the rumors circulating about her decision to walk away from the show prematurely due to the quick way in which she found “the one.”
