Dancing With The Stars Week 3: Kaitlyn Bristowe dances the Rumba

Dancing With The Stars returned for the third week of dances, and Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev neared the top of the leader board!
It was another great week for Kaitlyn Bristowe on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars! This week brought us the always exciting “Disney Week” on the show, and the dances were full of Disney magic! Tyra Banks donned a Mickey Mouse costume, and the rest of the cast joined her in Disney inspired costumes of their own. Kaitlyn Bristowe and her partner Artem Chigvintsev had another great week, ending up near the top of the leaderboard once again.
Kaitlyn and Artem danced the Rumba this week to the tune of “How Far I’ll Go” from the movie Moana! This dance became a sore spot for the last Bachelorette who competed on the show when Carrie Ann said Hannah Brown made it look like a cheerleader dance due to a lack of hip action. Thankfully, Kaitlyn Bristowe had a much more successful experience with the Rumba last night!
Kaitlyn’s ankle was still a bit injured from last week, so she couldn’t wear the high heeled shoes traditional to the Rumba. The pair danced barefoot, which made sense anyway in light of the tropical-themed song!
Carrie Ann said Kaitlyn’s dance was “so far the best dance of the night by miles!” Derek was disappointed by the lack of the Latin heel footwork due to Kaitlyn’s injured ankle but still complimented the dance. Bruno called the dance “wonderful” and said it looked like “breaking waves.”

Kaitlyn says her ankle injury is not a fracture, just tendonitis and shin splints. Here’s hoping it doesn’t trouble her throughout the show!
The pair earned an 8 from Carrie Ann, a 7 from Derek, and another 8 from Bruno, for a combined 23 out of 30, which put them 3rd on the leader board! They were outscored by Johnny Weir and Nev Schulman, who was dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow (can anyone really beat that?)
Kaitlyn and Artem sailed through the elimination, but we sadly had to say goodbye to Carole Baskin. I’m sure her cats will be happy to see her home!
