Bachelor in Paradise couple officially files for divorce one year after televised wedding.

Bachelor in Paradise couples don’t always find themselves living a life of peace, bliss, and well, paradise. While couples like Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon are endgame, others don’t always surpass the punches of real life, and the life that awaits them outside of all the cameras and drama.

You may recall that during 2019’s season of Bachelor in Paradise, Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone tied the knot during what was a very dramatic televised event. John Paul Jones and Derek Peth were fighting over Tayshia Adams, and it was just the start of the many things that would go on that season.

Less than a year later, circa Feb. 2020, Randone and Nielson took to social media to share that they had indeed decided to split. Despite trying to leave the possibility of getting back together open, the couple officially called it quits by filing for divorce.

Nielson shared the news via a very emotional Instagram post stating that they had come to this mutual decision after 8 months of battling the issue. It’s always a sad day when Bachelor Nation couples break up but it’s not all that uncommon either. Of course, it has a lot to do with the fact that life outside of the insulated world of the shows is a stark difference than what they face inside of it.

In fact, of the four couples that left Bachelor in Paradise engaged last year, only one remains happily engaged over a year later–I’m looking at you Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour! But yes, such is the harsh truth of Bachelor Nation or rather any reality dating shows. It’s not easy when you try to assimilate into daily life because there are many factors that just don’t exist in the bubble of the Bachelor world.

Having said that, many couples have pushed through and remain together this day like Trista and Ryan Sutter and Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici. Perhaps they should share their secret to a successful Bachelor Nation marriage–they’re obviously doing something right!
