DeAnna returns!
Oh, you guys. This moment was so teased throughout the entire season. In every preview for Season 13, it showed DeAnna returning to visit Jason, saying, “You still have a choice.” Whether it was DeAnna’s true intention or not, the coverage of her visit to Jason near the end of the season certainly made it look like she was there to change his mind and wanted to be the one to end up with him.
In these days, the previous lead returning to talk to the new lead under the pretense of “giving advice” is nothing new. Though none of these visits may be more dramatic than Hannah Brown returning to visit Peter and crying off her mascara, DeAnna’s visit to Jason was certainly one of the first of its kind.
Jason claimed to be shocked to see DeAnna, but who knows how real that was. DeAnna was shown saying “I lost out on a great man” and saying she wished she had done things differently and that Jason should “be smart.” She even said, “If I would’ve chose you, it would have worked,” though since the camera wasn’t actually on her when she said it, I have my doubts. She went on to say, “You haven’t proposed yet; you still have a chance.”
Jason seemed to kind of dismiss all the things DeAnna said, and reiterated that he had found two girls he wanted to propose to. In any case, DeAnna’s advice about Jason not choosing the wrong person also turned out to be eerily prophetic. Whether this conversation was what it seemed or not, it certainly lent a dramatic flair to an already dramatic ending!
