Did The Bachelorette Season 16 really cast extra men?

The Bachelorette Season 16 is prepping to begin filming later this month, and Clare Crawley’s men have officially begun arriving at the resort they will be quarantined at during filming. I’m not sure if any of you have noticed, but in between commercials for The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons Ever, they were still putting out casting calls for The Bachelorette Season 16.

Uh, how does that make sense if the men are already flying out there and are having to quarantine for two weeks? Well, nothing is confirmed, and there isn’t any official news regarding this, however, Bachelor Nation guru, Reality Steve has some insight into the matter.

Reportedly, the reason for casting extra men would be just in case the others test positive for COVID upon arriving at the resort. So, yes, if this is true, that means some of the additional men may not even end up being on the show if no one tests positive. They very well may be going out there for no reason due to being on standby, but it’s unclear if those guys actually know that could be the case.

Again, this isn’t official information by any means, but it is interesting to think about.

These are strange times, and the production has been repeatedly saying they are taking every precaution possible. This could be one of them so as not to delay things and keep things on the strict schedule they likely have.

I think there’s nothing wrong with the backup, but if these extra men have no idea about this, that would not go over well. And it’s sort of messed up, isn’t it? Well, if it is truly the case. Can you imagine flying out there thinking you’ve made it onto the show, only to eventually find out they don’t actually need you?

I’m curious as to how many “extra men” it could potentially be. It also begs the question, are these men going to be kept around for a certain amount of time in case someone tests positive during filming? Like will they just swap contestants out? Can you imagine? Awkward.

This is really going to be an interesting season, isn’t it? I feel like anything can happen and probably will happen. There are so many things to be cautious and wary of and the fact that The Bachelorette Season 16 could have extra men in their arsenal is intriguing, to say the least.

We’ll have to wait and see if this is actually what is going down. But I’m so here for all of this.
