Chris and Alex’s patio arrangement

There were so many funny throwback moments during last night’s The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons Ever, but this one really started things off with a bang. To be honest, I’m not sure why I found this so hilarious, except that is was so completely at odds with the overdone opulence the Bachelor franchise has come to embrace.

Chris Harrison took our very first Bachelor, Alex Michel, for the now-standard pre-limo chat, or as Chris called it, a “serious talk.” However, this setting for this chat was so insanely quaint compared to nowadays that it really cracked me up and made it very hard to take this talk seriously.  Chris Harrison and Alex had their first talk out on the patio, with naught but a couple of chairs and a few candles on the little table between them.

Chris thought it would be a good idea to start off the conversation by asking Alex, “Why on Earth are you doing this?” Lol. Great pep talk, Chris. He continued by reminding Alex multiple times that the women might reject him right away. The confidence grows!

The setup for this first conversation was not only hilarious, it reminded us all that The Bachelor really doesn’t need it’s enormous decor budget to pull off a successful season. Maybe Clare’s season will see a return of the patio set–if we’re lucky.

Next. Would Madison and Colton make a good couple?. dark

Definitely the best episode of The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons Ever yet! Let’s hope for more vintage seasons ahead.
