Greg’s studio apartment

In my humble opinion, renting an apartment by yourself in New York City signals success, not a failure. However, this is The Bachelorette, so each man must be not only successful but apparently must live like a king!

We all love Trista, but a couple of moments of hers came off as hilariously tactless when she saw the apartment. Greg mentioned New York doesn’t offer a lot of living space, and she responded “No kidding!” Her face, as she looked around, was priceless. She said to the cameras, “I can’t judge Greg without knowing why he lives where he lives.” Maybe because it’s New York and even a studio is insanely expensive?

It was pretty hilarious to watch Greg attempt to make the moment romantic, offering Trista some wine, and to watch her respond with a request for water instead. This is The Bachelorette. When someone declines an alcoholic beverage, you know you’re in trouble. When Greg reached for what appeared to be a bottle of Sierra Nevada to fish a glass out of the cupboard, this moment was forever sealed in my heart.

It’s also good to know the show always had its magic touch of making the moment even more awkward with its musical overlay.
