The Bachelorette Season 16 is officially going into production!

The Bachelorette Season 16 is happening, folks. I know we’ve been hearing about it for what feels like months now, but now it’s actually happening, according to a Variety exclusive. There aren’t a ton of details available as of yet, but here’s what we know so far.

How Clare Crawley’s season is going down

The idea that The Bachelorette Season 16 would be filmed any time soon felt like a pipe dream, but it looks their production has come up with a way to do things as safely as possible. There isn’t a production start date just yet, but things are coming together as we speak.

Filming is going to take place in a quarantined location with everyone, including cast and crew, living on-site. Basically it sounds like a “no one can leave, no one can come” situation. I’m not sure I’m convinced on how this will play out, but if they’re all set to start production, they’ve given it more thought than I have.

Everyone on-site will be tested before coming to the location, and frequent testing and temperature checks will be a part of the norm while they film. How exactly does a dating show work under such climates? Will there be no Fantasy Suites? No kissing? No hand holding? Will everyone wear masks?

"Health and safety of our crew and cast is the number one concern. There is always robust care for our team, and that will be the case as they isolate and shoot the show. Production is going above-and-beyond the recommendations."

I have so many questions.

However this will go down, it seems like the cast is heading to this unknown location (supposedly somewhere private in Southern California) fairly soon as they will need to quarantine for some time ahead of filming. Apart from that, we have no idea when and where The Bachelorette Season 16 will begin production.

The pros and cons

There are pros and cons for a show like this especially during a time where a lot of primetime shows are hoping to begin filming as well. The pros are that since they don’t really have to go anywhere, they can be confined to one location. That means no international trips, no hometowns, and likely a very different version of one-on-one and group dates, which is a con within the show, but nothing that can’t be changed if it means getting back to filming.

The cons, of course, are that they have to be extra careful. I’m sure there will be some restrictions on how physical you can get, which is I’m what I’m curious about. Not sure how they will get around that!

"We obviously can’t shoot a dating show with people in close quarters where people aren’t cleared and we know everything is safe. It will be a super safe paradise for everyone to shoot the show."

Guess we’ll have to sit tight and wait once everything gets going.

Hopefully with all the safety measures in place, Clare Crawley can finally find the love of her life. Who knows, maybe one of the new cast members is just the guy for her. Love has a funny way of working out sometimes, and maybe fate had something else in mind for our dear Bachelorette.
