The product placement to rule them all

We’re all used to a product placement every now and then on The Bachelor. Halo Top ice cream has really dominated the more recent seasons, but once upon a time, we got a truly exciting, date-long advertisement for McDonald’s! That’s some serious cred right there. This product placement was so blatant it almost felt like the company was a third person on Ben and Amanda’s one-on-one date.

Along with having an entire fair all to themselves on this date, Ben and Amanda hopped on over to McDonald’s during their visit to Ben’s hometown. The couple actually got to (had to?) work in the drive-thru and serve food to the charming residents of Warsaw, Indiana. It was actually kind of fun to see a couple kick back with some fast food instead of being spoiled with all the glitz and glam.

I remember this date as the night I first realized McDonald’s was doing all-day breakfast. Ben and Amanda both got Egg McMuffins and I may have gone out after the show to order one for myself. I’m not sure why McDonald’s needed to advertise on The Bachelor, but I am glad they did because this date was truly one of a kind.
