The Bachelorette: 9 most awkward and dramatic seasons in franchise history
Season 15: Hannah Brown
Most Gen Zers most likely have seen Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, and of course, Millenial fans will remember Hannah’s infamous “podium move”. You remember, when contestant Luke Parker showed up to win her back.
In the episode, it’s clear she has had enough of him interrupting her rose ceremony and without any words, just moves the podium up to continue handing out her roses. This scene is so iconic from the speech Hannah B. gives to Luke, to the cameraman’s clever angles capturing contestant Jed’s confusion, to all three of her final men coming to her rescue and pushing Luke out of the way to go home.
Later on at the end of the season, fans found out that her final choice Jed Wyatt had a girlfriend prior to coming on the show. Much too similar to Season 7’s The Bachelorette with Justin Rego and Jillian Harris (first Canadian Bachelorette) who had to send contestant Wes Hayden home because he admitted he already had a girlfriend.
This was eerily alike to the Jillian-Wes story because rumors were that he was most only on the show to promote his singing career and gain a fandom, much like the rumors we heard about Jed. Unfortunately, this was the first time any of the Bachelorettes were actually engaged to the cheater. Poor Hannah B.! I feel like this one could have been stopped way early on in the season by the producers, etc.
