Nick and Kaitlyn sleep together…Pre-Fantasy Suite!

Nick Viall joining The Bachelorette Season 11 really was such a gift. It created such drama and his relationship with Kaitlyn felt so real from the start; it was clear they had a pre-established connection and it was fascinating to watch it develop in the confines of the show, alongside the other relationships.

After joining the show and going on a group date, Nick got his long-awaited one-one-one in Dublin, Ireland. The date was fun to watch—it involved a steady flow of Irish whiskey, Nick protecting Kaitlyn from birds in the park, the pair making out in random Dublin alleys, and dinner in a beautiful Catholic church. The clincher: at the end of the dinner, Kaitlyn asked Nick to come back to her hotel and “hang out for a bit.” The shocked and delighted look on Nick’s face was truly priceless.

After some more Irish whiskey, Nick and Kaitlyn disappeared into her room shutting the cameras out. Presumably, they took their mic packs off, but there must have been a microphone in the room that made even the most dedicated Bachelor viewers feel like uninvited voyeurs. In any case, the drama from this unexpected sleepover echoed through the rest of the season, with Kaitlyn actually confessing the event to Shawn on their next one-one-one!

Take a look at what led up to Kaitlyn and Nick’s sleepover:
