On dates, contestants are not allowed to eat the food.

So, this is definitely a secret that many are aware of already, but if you are new to this, keep reading! The food on these dates always looks so delicious, classy yet perfect. The catch is…you’re not allowed to eat it!

The point is that the producers want the contestants to be able to converse during the dates and that is a bit difficult when you’re stuffing your face with tomato-basil gnocchi. However, the producers aren’t complete monsters (haha jk), they do actually bring room service to contestants’ rooms or a plate of food when they are usually getting ready for these dates. Not to mention, it makes speaking with the mic on very hard as well. Not exactly the easiest thing to edit out, either.

2 drinks/per hour limit…is that a thing? Why, yes it is.

This might be a rule that may come as a surprise to some of you. A little background on this, as it was not always a rule. I won’t get into too many details of it, but back in 2017, an “incident” occurred during Bachelor in Paradise as a producer filed a complaint about an alleged sexual encounter between two contestants who had been drinking alcohol.

Life before then included hilarious television where we could catch some of the “drunk contestants” on night one who would get heavily intoxicated which would ultimately lead them to their own demise. Wells Adams spoke more on this “2 drink per limit” rule and has told The Cheat Sheet in the past, “That was either two beers an hour, two mixed drinks an hour, two shots an hour.” Not only is this a rule, but it has been positively supported as it has led to better decisions and more time for what we are all here for–the love!
