Chris Harrison is staying connected to Bachelor Nation in any way he can during this time of quarantine and lockdown. Whether’s that through Instagram Live with girlfriend Lauren Zima, or showing up on any talk shows virtually, he’s helping us get through this.
Most recently, he popped up on The Kelly Clarkson Show to spill the tea on Bachelor Nation, specifically, who he has wanted to scream at. I mean, let’s be honest, the guy has a difficult job, and the frustration we often feel at home, he’s feeling it in person with that very person within his reach.
You know, like Peter Weber, for example, who gave us one of the most obnoxious seasons of The Bachelor ever. I can’t imagine what Chris Harrison had to put up with, and how much composure he had to practice in those very trying moments. More power to you, Chris–you did what we all couldn’t.
During his interview with Clarkson, Harrison was asked who he has wanted to scream at the most out of the Bachelor Nation alums. We can all think of a few off the bat, but let’s see what our dear host had to say.
"Last season with Peter I wanted to just grab him by the shirt collar, and be like “Come on man, pull it together!” cause he was a mess coming down the stretch. And Colton, obviously jumping the fence and running away from me in the Portuguese countryside. […]"
Don’t remind us of the horror that was Colton running away. Can you imagine how Chris must have felt after chasing him down? I’m in my feelings when I’m watching from home, and feel so annoyed and angry at contestants sometimes, I don’t know how I’d feel if they were right there in front of me.
Harrison shares that even he and Hannah Brown had their moments, and boy, were there some tough ones to get through with that season. But the guy has been doing this for 18+ years, he’s basically seen it all and gone through every scenario imaginable, while somehow maintaining his sanity.
Just putting it out there, but if you had to deal with the Jed Wyatt/Hannah Brown situation, can you imagine the intense levels of obnoxiousness that you would feel?
"Probably with every Bachelor and Bachelorette, there is that moment where they want to scream at me, and sometimes they do, and I want to yell at them but that’s part of honestly, why I do get involved in these people’s lives and I do care about them and I think when you do love people, it’s not that you abuse them, that’s not love but I think you do have those heated moments where you’re really telling them the truth."
Chris Harrison, you’ve got a tough job, and we commend you for it. The amount of drama, crying, screaming, and fighting is a hard pass for me to deal with in person. But from the comfort of my home? I’m all in with my tub of popcorn.
