The Bachelor: Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan are officially an item

In the saga that is Peter Weber’s never-ending season of The Bachelor, it appears he may have finally, after 84 years, picked his true Final Rose recipient. Per a source, Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan are officially a couple.

It appears that Chris Harrison has heard my cries for help and finally put an end to the madness that was Peter’s love life. In the end, he deferred to his legal counsel, as a source disclosed to PEOPLE today that Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan are officially “a couple.”

I mean, honestly, this has gone on for long enough. If we were ever supposed to believe Peter was ready and actively looking for marriage, this thinly-veiled illusion deteriorated by the day. I wish I never had to write the following sentence that Peter’s “ex” “girlfriends'” collective shade on a Tik Tok video was the last straw, but here we are in 2020.

To refresh your memory, Kelley Flanagan was the woman Peter decided was one degree of freedom away from being his wife versus Victoria Fuller. The timeline got decidedly sketchy from there on out – Kelley was mysteriously absent from the ‘Women Tell All’ filming – yet was still in LA for seemingly no reason, was down in Miami for the Super Bowl, conveniently as was Peter, then made an ultimately unexplained appearance on ‘After The Final Rose.’ All simply coincidences, none of which create any sort of storyline that insinuates the two of them ever being in contact post-filming.

We were then all given extreme mental whiplash when Weber appeared mysteriously in Chicago on March 25th, where he casually accompanied fellow alum Dustin Kendrick and, you guessed it, Kelley Flanagan, to the Riverwalk. After a failed attempt at Quarantine Crew 2.0, Peter and Kelley seemingly vanished from social media, at least together. Clearly, things were happening behind the scenes. And frankly, it’s about time we put an end to this nonsense.

Kelley is age-appropriate, holds a legitimate career, and seemed to challenge Peter on a level other contestants couldn’t, at least right off the bat. He always seemed a bit on his toes when Kelley was around. It’s honestly incredibly disappointing we didn’t see more of this storyline, as clearly, there was more substance to this relationship that “randomly began” in a hotel lobby last summer. Moreover, Peter is seemingly actually compatible with Kelley, something he conveniently forgot to consider in, well, the final three relationships on his season.

I’m sure more details are inevitably to come, but for now, it appears that Peter has given his final rose to Kelley, officially. Worst case scenario, they can always get a quick pro-bono divorce.
