The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart season 1 episode 1: Looking for musical love
Tonight was the season premiere of The Bachelor’s newest show, Listen to Your Heart. The cast is looking for love with people who share a passion for music–will they find it?
Listen to Your Heart is The Bachelor‘s newest show, and there are no returning Bachelor Nation folks, besides Chris Harrison. The opening introductions showed us a range of people, including a Marine, a yoga instructor, and a musical theater fanatic. But the overall vibe was the same. Everyone was looking for love with someone who shared a passion for music.
The introductions felt like Bachelor in Paradise, except no one knew anything about each other since no one was from a previous Bachelor Nation season. Chris Harrison announced the women had control this week since there were eight ladies and twelve guys starting on the first night. But overall, the first night went very well, and a few couples even spent time in the hot tub.
The first date card arrived the next morning. Ryan had the first choice of who to take out, and he chose Jamie, and the two of them had a date at Capitol Records. The pair had the opportunity of singing John Mayer’s song “Gravity” together. One of the biggest honors was when the couple sang into Frank Sinatra’s microphone. Did anyone else notice their chemistry?
Another date card arrived shortly after. Matt and Mel went to a private concert where The Plain White T’s were playing. Later that evening, the first Listen to Your Heart cocktail party took place, followed by the rose ceremony. Eight couples left the ceremony together, and four men left the mansion. Many fans were happy to see Rudi had given a rose to Ryan since Jamie chose Trevor instead.
This week didn’t have much drama compared to other shows in the Bachelor franchise. But next week looks intense. The preview showed drama between Trevor and Jamie. Jamie shared she was cheated on in all her previous relationships, and it appears Trevor may not be a faithful partner.
