The Bachelor: Let’s talk about Merissa Pence, shall we?

The Bachelor introduces us to…Merissa Pence. Who is she? Let’s investigate.

The Bachelor has made us care a whole lot about a name we had never heard before today, well most of us hadn’t anyway. Merissa Pence. If you watched tonight’s episode, then you know that despite her face being blurred out, she was a crucial part of tonight.

While visiting Victoria F.’s hometown in Virginia Beach and after Hunter Hayes serenaded both of them, Pete was approached by someone. We didn’t see her face, but we didn’t need to, because it was what she said that was rather shocking (sort of?).

This woman asked Pete to “be careful”, and while she didn’t flat out say Victoria’s name, she didn’t need to. I just want to point out that she kept saying she wouldn’t say more…and then proceeded to anyway. Anyway, this woman, who Bachelor Nation now knows as Merissa Pence, is someone Peter dated a while back.

She knows Victoria F. personally and doesn’t have anything good to say about her. In fact, she’s insistent on Peter really thinking about his decision. We all know how that turned out (insert eye-roll and facepalm emojis here).

In an exclusive with US Weekly, Pence opened up about Victoria F.–and she did not hold back.

"Our first encounter was that she told me she was going to slash my tires because I was hanging out with one of her ex-boyfriends."

Yikes.

Pence isn’t exactly a huge fan of Victoria F., and because they run in the same social circles, it makes sense that she had some dirt to approach Pete with. Not that it mattered at the end of the day–at least as far as tonight’s episode goes.

"She just thinks that the world revolves around her and she’s the hottest thing that’s ever hit this planet. And actually the most disturbing thing so far of all of this was the lingerie episode that she just acted like she was this coy person. The people in Virginia Beach are even seeing that that’s not you at all. You’re always the one in the bar wanting attention."

I’m curious as to what the present situation is, especially now that the hometowns episode has aired. Are we going to hear from Victoria F. herself? Will she come to her own defense?

As for Pence and Pete, they dated back in 2012 and remained friends for some time after their breakup after they both were dating other people. Welcome back, Merissa Pence. You are now a part of The Bachelor and the world that comes with it–Bachelor Nation says hello.

Much like many of the other Bachelor Nation contestants, Pence is a former pageant queen and a model. Hey, maybe she knows all the women from Colton’s season of The Bachelor?

There is a lot of curiosity surrounding Merissa Pence now (she’s trending on Twitter!), and it is safe to say Bachelor Nation wants to know more about her. Honestly, I wish could speak with her about this whole situation, especially since Peter decided to keep Victoria F. around (I’m still not over this decision).

All I can say is that I feel a whole lot like this lady, and I think Bachelor Nation is really questioning where Peter’s head is after tonight’s episode. Please explain yourself Pilot Pete–please.
