Accept This Rose has an exclusive chat with Bachelor Nation’s Becca Kufrin about the upcoming Bachelor: Live on Stage tour!
Bachelor Nation, are you ready to attend Bachelor: Live on Stage? We sure hope so because it kicks off in Mesa, Arizona on February 13th, and is set to visit over 60+ cities nationwide. Better yet, Becca Kufrin and Ben Higgins will be co-hosting the tour together. Need we say more?
Some of you may be hearing about this show for the first time, so let us brief you on what it’s all about. Basically, in each city, a local bachelor takes the stage and local women compete to win. It’s basically what we are already used to, but squeezed into a quick format onstage.
But don’t worry, the 2-hour event will contain all the resident traditions of any Bachelor Nation show–rose ceremonies, one-on-one dates, group dates, etc. Now, you may be wondering how the heck all of this is supposed to happen over the course of two hours.
Well, I was too, and luckily, I had the opportunity to speak with Becca Kufrin about the upcoming tour–and trust me, I asked her all about it. Check out our conversation below, and click here to find out when and where you can attend the show!
Accept This Rose: You’ll be co-hosting the first-ever Bachelor: Live on Stage with Ben Higgins. Tell us more about this!
Becca Kufrin: People still have so many questions about what it’s going to be like. Ben and I want it to be a really fun, interactive show. Basically, when people buy tickets they are signing up to see the Bachelor dating style live. This will be the first time the audience will see group dates, challenges and rose ceremonies in person. But they also will now have some sort of say into who the Bachelor will potentially end up with. It’s going to be a night of fun and each night will be a different crowd and Bachelor and contestants. The vibes will be based upon each city so it will be a lot of fun! This is our way of bringing the franchise to the people for the first time.
ATR: Will you and Ben Higgins be channeling your inner Chris Harrison during this show? Have you asked him for any pointers?
Becca: I’m sure as we get closer to the actual show time we definitely will. You can’t be Chris, he is the ultimate host. Ben, I will say, can take on the Chris Harrison persona. He’s just so good at interacting and being in front of people, so I think to prepare I will definitely watch old seasons.
ATR: What are you most looking forward to with this experience?
Becca: Ben and I have talked about this a little bit. There are two things on my end! One, I’m just excited to go to each city and meet people. There have been so many people that have supported me and the show and the relationships that come from the show. It will be a very special thing to meet them and talk face to face and hear their stories.
We are holding the meet and greet after each show for anyone that has VIP tickets. You can chat with Ben and me and anyone else that makes an appearance. That will be special to be face to face with everyone. And secondly, a lot of these cities I’ve never been to, so I’m excited to not only go to these cite that I’ve never been to but to explore and immerse myself there.
ATR: Will there be any Bachelor Nation cameos during the tour?
Becca: Yes! You definitely will. We are definitely going to pull from the past Bachelor crowd. We will see some familiar faces along the way–but I won’t give away when or what cities!
ATR: Given the nature of the tour and the big scale of the show, how are you managing to squeeze an entire season into one night? How exactly will that work?
Becca: We took all of the main highlight points that are within each season–the group dates, the one-on-ones, the rose ceremonies, and hometown dates. That will all be a part of this but it will be very condensed and sped up. But those main points that make the Bachelor what it is today will all be included. We’re still working through some of it.
Ben and I will co-host a couple of fun challenges like some women performing to show off their personalities, or we might do some fun games to show the compatibility between the contestants and the lead.
ATR: How interactive will the night be between the participants and the audience?
Becca: Ben and I are going to be checking in with the audience from start to finish, throughout the entire show. We’ll get people’s feedback on the girls and the different challenges, and what’ s going on in real-time on the stage.
Being a fan of Bachelor Nation for a long time, I along with everyone else know what to expect from the show and how things go. I’ve watched seasons in past and there’s always someone you root for or someone you want the lead to end up with, or someone that makes you cringe every time they are on the screen. Everyone has all these feelings and they’re so invested so this will be the first time they can yell at us or cheer at us or tell us what they’re thinking with all the contestants. I’m really excited! We’ve been going through the rehearsals and I’m like, ‘Why don’t we go down into the audience during this part or when this is happening let’s go down and check in with one girl in the front?’ Different fun things like that will be happening throughout the show so people can feel like they’re a part of it.
ATR: If all goes well this year, could you possibly repeat the tour next year to make this an annual event?
Becca: I don’t want to speak too much on that but I definitely know that the team has much bigger plans in the works for this. Of course, we would love for it to go well and be a more permanent thing from here on out. We’ll see come May how that goes!
