In the world’s worst timeline, we say goodbye to yet another couple from Bachelor in Paradise.

Well, fans have been speculating, and unfortunately, their suspicions were correct. Bachelor in Paradise couple Joe Amabile and Kendall Long have officially split.

Excuse me while I cry into my coffee. Fans definitely noticed the drop off in social media posts, pointing out that this trend led to the same sad fate for other Bachelor Nation couples–Ben and Lauren B., Shawn and Kaitlyn, Katie and Chris, etc. This was the one time I had really hoped would have a different outcome, but alas, we can’t have nice things, and social media typically does not lie.

The couple announced their split in a joint statement to Bachelor Nation.

"We have decided mutually to go our separate ways. Joe has made the decision to move back to Chicago while Kendall will be remaining in her hometown of Los Angeles. […] We both respect each others’ decision and still have a great deal of love for each other. We appreciate all the love and support everyone has given us throughout our relationship."

Not much has come out on what led to the split, and the above statement is the classic general ‘joint statement’ template. This news is particularly sad in light of the engagement plans they discussed publicly a month ago.

We first met Joe during Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette (he was eliminated after the first night), and after just gracing us with his presence in one episode, he managed to get a spot on Bachelor in Paradise. The couple met during that season of BiP and revealed during the Tell All reunion that they were dating (they didn’t leave paradise together). Sigh. Those were the days, weren’t they?

You know how you have that one couple you were always rooting for in this dramatic franchise? That was Kendall and Joe. We watched them meet on season five of Bachelor in Paradise, and we all fell in love with them after that babysitting date. This one hurts, Bachelor Nation. They Venmoed each other four days ago!

Are you shocked by this split, or were you equally suspicious of their lack of social media love? Feel free to join the pity party, we have fresh produce.
