Did Madison Prewett just compliment herself on Instagram? Awkward.

Madison Prewett has quickly become a contender in the race to win Peter Weber’s heart on this season’s The Bachelor. Not only did she make an impression on Pilot Pete, but she even snagged the first one-on-one date–attending Peter’s parent’s vow renewal. I still feel that was pretty aggressive for the first date, but it is what it is.

And while Madi may be progressing on The Bachelor this season, things aren’t looking so hot for her in the real world. Following the season 24 premiere, Madison Prewett couldn’t wait to share a picture of her and Peter on their date.

Naturally, the internet was ecstatic over the two cuties. That is until a comment from Madi herself popped up in the comments–complimenting herself. Thanks to one of the newest additions on our team (who has a popular Bachelor Nation fan Instagram account), @BachSleuthers, Prewett’s comment was called out.

So, what exactly was this comment?

"Beautiful date Madi. You are so genuine and real."

It would appear that Madison Prewett meant to comment from a fan account she created herself but instead commented from her personal one. Awwwwkward.

At least that’s what it looks like, and I think @BachSleuthers is onto something here. As soon as this was pointed out, Bachelor Nation was quick to respond to it–and they weren’t all nice. To save herself from the embarrassment, Madi followed up by saying her sister was the one that accidentally left the compliments.

Shortly after, a friend of Madi’s took the blame for what happened.

"Oops! Thought I wrote that comment about being real & genuine from my account but was logged into Madi’s from when she got back from filming. Don’t hate me."

Bachelor Nation wasn’t exactly convinced over Madi’s excuse and had plenty to say in regards to her “reasoning”. If you’re asking me, it all seems pretty shady. But hey, at least Madison Prewett’s friend has her back–through thick and Insta.
