The Bachelor: What makes Peter Weber the right choice?
By Rida Qadri
He represents diversity
There was some speculation in the past about Mike Johnson (The Bachelorette contestant from Hannah Brown’s season) becoming the new Bachelor. If he was selected, he would have become the 1st African American lead. As much as the franchise could use more diverse leads, who is it to say that Peter is not representative of that? His father comes from German ancestry and his mother is Cuban. Culturally, Peter and his parents say a prayer before eating, which most would find adorable.
He has a positive attitude about this journey
The man is a happy and positive guy. I mean, he can be in the worst situations as he was with Luke Parker (Season 15, The Bachelorette)–like during one of Hannah Brown’s last rose ceremonies. He still tries to come out of the situation on top and a better guy. I mean, a spontaneous photographic shot of the lead 95% of the time would be him smiling because he chooses to look at life from the lens of positivity and that quality alone will make for a spectacular Bachelor lead.
Nice guy, he is but he stays honest
"“Peter is too vanilla, Peter is too bland, Peter is too nice.”"
Yes, Peter Weber is a nice guy, but he is not afraid to tell it like it is. On the season 24 premiere of The Bachelor, he confronted Hannah Brown. You may recall, she had asked Tyler Cameron (Runner up on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette) on a drink date upon the final live episode. When Luke Parker had made his appearance at the rose ceremony consisting of Peter Weber, Tyler Cameron, and Jed Wyatt), Peter was not afraid to step up and tell Luke to back off (being the gentleman that he is, of course).
