Why, oh, why is Hannah Brown on Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor? Chris Harrison explains.

Hannah Brown has made quite the splash over the past year, and I have to say, I’m extremely proud. She may have started off as a timid, shy contestant on The Bachelor but now she’s a newly crowned winner of Dancing With the Stars.

However, Brown’s recent claim to fame has been something a bit closer to home. Based on Peter Weber’s promos for The Bachelor, we’ve come to know that Hannah Brown makes an appearance. We even hear Weber ask her to stay in the mansion. Logic dictates she doesn’t actually stick around, especially since she was filming DWTS at the time. But hey, it’s fun to think about anyway, isn’t it?

While speaking with E! News, host Chris Harrison explained why Hannah Beast is there, and what all this teasing actually means. Well, besides, getting all the attention in the world so Bachelor Nation can preemptively start freaking out before the season even begins.

"I think it’s something that needed to be dealt with, the relationship. I think it’s a relationship that didn’t have a clean, clear break. I think there were and maybe are feelings there, and some underlying feelings that maybe they thought they had both dealt with, but I knew once they saw each other, they probably hadn’t really dealt with them all, so I think it’s a hurdle that we needed to clear before we moved forward."

That’s a pretty fair statement. Clearly, Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette was anything but ordinary, and as a result, she must have had many, many unresolved feelings. I mean, why wouldn’t she? The girl was juggling multiple guys and her major feelings for all of them.

While I’m pretty certain that Brown doesn’t come on Peter’s season to stick around to compete with the other women, I understood it likely meant that there needed to be some sense of closure, especially for Peter. He can’t exactly begin pursuing 30 women if he still has conflicted feelings over Hannah–especially after the windmill situation.

After everything Hannah Beast has gone through, she deserves a solid shot at love. Does this mean she could return to the world of Bachelor Nation in order to do so? I think she very well could, but if you’re asking me, she might be past all of this.

Homegirl has moved on in a big way, I don’t really see her looking back at the franchise, and I don’t mean that in a “she’s too good for it” way. Sometimes contestants move on in grand ways, and it makes sense for them to continue to grow and build outside of Bachelor Nation.

Whatever the case may be, Chris Harrison is adamant about the fact that Hannah B.’s appearance on Peter’s season is mainly due to closure. However, we will have to wait and find out exactly what goes down between them when The Bachelor returns on Jan. 6th (is it Jan. 6th yet?).
