Bachelor in Paradise: John Paul Jones and his love triangle
By Ariba Bhuvad
That moment on Bachelor in Paradise when John Paul Jones gets stuck in a love triangle? Quadrangle? It’s hard to say.
Bachelor in Paradise has quickly become the land of love triangles this season. And while they’ve primarily involved Blake Horstmann, I’m happy (and sad) to report that this time, I’m talking about John Paul Jones. Over the last couple of weeks, JPJ has had his heart set on being with Tayshia Adams. It’s safe to say he’s pretty darn smitten over her.
But things took a turn after Tayshia told JPJ to explore his options when new arrivals walked onto the beach. This feels a lot like the whole Katie Morton/Chris Bukowski situation, doesn’t it? While Adams was very happy to let JPJ go do his thing, the same cannot be said about the man himself. He was crushed and disheartened but decided to follow Adams’ advice and go on the next date that he was asked on.
First up was Tahzjuan Hawkins, from Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. I have a whole lot to say about this lady, but I think it’s best to save that for another post. Basically, she showed up to Paradise and set her sights on JPJ, asking him out on his first one-on-one date. It wasn’t the best date ever, but it also wasn’t the worst. Whatever it was, it had Hawkins hooked on JPJ.
Which is why when the next arrival, Haley Ferguson from Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelor showed up and asked JPJ out, it frazzled Hawkins like no other. A strange reaction after one date, but it’s okay, we’ll roll with it.
Mind you, during all of this mess on Bachelor in Paradise, JPJ still only had eyes for Tayshia, who was off trying to make something happen with Derek Peth. I told you, it’s more like a quadrangle than anything else.
JPJ is not happy about this new connection, and although he ultimately picked Haley for his rose, he’s still team Tayshia. Since this is being written before part 2 of this week’s episodes of Bachelor in Paradise airs, the jury is still out for how the whole JPJ/Peth confrontation will go down.
You’ll have to check back in to see our thoughts on that!
