Bachelor in Paradise contestant Blake Horstmann releases texts in an attempt to defend his honor–and Twitter had a strong reaction.

Bachelor in Paradise is only two episodes in and the drama is already at a boiling point. We all pretty much expect it at this point with any Bachelor Nation show, but the fact that things are taking a dark turn so quickly is fairly shocking. In the first two episodes of season 6, we’ve been introduced to the contestants thus far, and amongst them is Bachelor Nation alum Blake Horstmann who was on Becca’s season of The Bachelorette.

Joining Blake on Bachelor in Paradise, is Bachelor alum Caelynn Miller-Keyes, who we all remember from Colton’s season. So, what do these two have in common? They hooked up before heading to paradise, and it didn’t end well, in fact, it ended pretty awkwardly.

Apparently, they dated for a bit, slept together, and then allegedly Blake ended up ghosting her and proceeding to ask her to keep their past a secret. Oh, and he hooked up with another Bachelor Nation alum, Kristina Schulman the night before. Why, Blake, why?

This all came to a head in the Bachelor in Paradise season 6 premiere as Caelynn grew increasingly uncomfortable with Blake running around as all the girls were swooning over him. Unfortunately for him, he was painted in a rather horrid light, and Bachelor Nation came to the support of Caelynn and all the other girls Blake has hurt.

And because this is Bachelor Nation we’re talking about, as soon as the episodes aired, Blake took to social media to defend his honor and provide screenshots of his conversations with Caelynn before they went off to Bachelor in Paradise. And it doesn’t make her look really good.

Blake eventually took down these screenshots as fans took to Twitter to share their disapproval of him sharing such personal texts without any regard for Caelynn. Personally, I think there’s a better way to handle all of this and it’s unfortunate that social media is the go-to platform to air out dirty laundry. Whatever happened to picking up the phone and talking it out?

I’m not sure we want to, Demi, I’m not sure we do.

We’ve barely started this season of Bachelor in Paradise so we have to see how this all turns out, but for now, I hope both Blake and Caelynn can have their privacy respected.
