The Bachelorette: No, not Jed Wyatt, anyone but Jed Wyatt!
By Ariba Bhuvad
The Bachelorette continues to stir up the drama with its latest addition involving Jed Wyatt.
The Bachelorette has been dramatic AF this season, and it doesn’t seem like there are any signs of that stopping. Between Luke P. drama and the odd Bachelorette recap episode, things have been strange, to say the least. And now, we can add another thing to the list–Jed Wyatt.
Yes, our dear, sweet, handsome Jed has been wrapped up in some drama and I have to say, it breaks my heart a little bit. On Thursday, People released an interview they did with Jed’s ex, Haley Stevens, who had a few things to say about the good-looking singer.
When Jed packed his bags and headed off to Los Angeles in the pursuit of love, it turns out he had been allegedly dating Stevens for about four months. Now, we’re not entirely sure what the truth is but just a couple of weeks ago, Jed did confide in Hannah that he originally came onto the show viewing it as a platform for his musical career, but being with her has changed everything.
Stevens’ comments about her and Jed’s relationship make more sense in this context considering his conversation with Hannah. In Stevens’ interview with People, she broke down exactly what happened before Jed left for L.A.
"We spent the night together the night before he headed to L.A. He told me [the show] was just an obstacle and we’d be stronger on the other side because of it. […] He told me [early on] that he had applied. He said, ‘It’s probably not going to happen, but it’s a huge opportunity. I’m only doing this for my music.’ He only did it for his career."
It’s hard to gauge my emotions and thoughts about this because Jed did come clean and was honest about the musical career part of all of this. However, we didn’t know anything about the ex, so that does complicate things.
The plot thickens as Stevens went on to say that she and Wyatt never spoke about their relationship again, even after he returned to Nashville. However, prior to him leaving, they went on a romantic getaway and even exchanged, “I love yous” for the first time ever. According to her, Wyatt ghosted her and used her as a backup in case things didn’t work out on The Bachelorette.
The season isn’t over, so none of us, including Stevens, knows what happens at the end. But her allegations allude to the fact that he disappeared on her, and before things got out of hand, Stevens wanted to get ahead of the story before anyone else did.
You can check out Stevens’ full interview on People if you’re interested in knowing what else she had to say about Jed. I know I want to know!
