Last night’s episode of The Bachelorette brought us to the end of the Luke vs. Luke drama–sort of?

The Bachelorette was interesting, to say the least, last night. Quite a bit happened but much of it was painful to get through and our hearts went out to Hannah Beast for having to deal with it. But before we go any further in this article, here is your spoiler disclaimer.

SPOILER ALERT: If you have not watched the most recent episode of The Bachelorette then do not read ahead. We’d hate to ruin the episode for you, so please proceed with caution. You have been warned.

Okay, now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk about the episode! Leading up to this week, most of us have been knee-deep in the Luke P. vs. Luke S. drama. To say that it’s been dramatic is putting it lightly, but we’re all so here for it, aren’t we?

In a plot twist some of may have seen coming, Luke S. decided to bow out just as Hannah was beginning the rose ceremony in last night’s episode. And who can blame the guy? Luke P. was savage AF and totally screwed over Luke S, and all along, I was hoping that someone would intervene and stick up for him loudly.

Following last night’s episode, Luke S. went on ABC’s Strahan and Sara to explain his reasoning behind his decision. Take a peek at the interview below!

So why did Luke S. ultimately decide to leave The Bachelorette?

Next. The Bachelorette Week 5: Twitter is devastated by John Paul Jones going home. dark

"To me, being there, I felt like she didn’t trust me, and I think that was enough for me to leave because trust is the basis of any relationship. Without trust, you can’t have a relationship. And when I felt like I’d lost that, that was when I felt like I needed to leave."

And just before he officially walked away, he said he looked to Mike and said he deserves to be the next Bachelor–and I totally 100% agree.
