3. Tyler G.

We’ll be honest, after the premiere episode of The Bachelorette last week, Tyler G. wasn’t really on our radar. Sure, he made it past that brutal first round of cuts, but he didn’t make quite the same splash as a Luke P. or a Cam.

That’s why it took us by surprise when Tyler nabbed up the first one-on-one date card of the season. This date is always a special one on the series, generally indicating that there was an instant connection between the season lead and one of her suitors. This one was probably extra special, as Hannah Brown herself got the first one-on-one of her season of The Bachelor. She could completely relate the experience and wanted to give it to the right person.

During their dinner together, Hannah was gushing about how great the connection was with him. She talked him through why she chose him, including detailing their instant chemistry when he came out of the limo.

Bonus points go to Tyler for asking Hannah intelligent questions. It was really refreshing to not hear either an unearned “I love you” (we’re not gonna let that one go) or just the long list of the suitor’s personal life experiences. That small change of pace could really go the distance in helping Hannah to remember him for the rest of the game.
