2. She owns her brand

Hannah is well aware of her awkwardness. She’s embraced it from the first moment we met her on The Bachelor, when she literally referred to herself as the “hot mess express.” She doesn’t try to hide that she’s not perfect; instead, she owns that quality and has a good laugh about it.

This season, she’s already leaning pretty hard into embracing that brand. One of my favorite subtle moments from the premiere of The Bachelorette was when she gave a toast. The moment immediately called back to her first date with Colton Underwood, when she struggled to find literally *any* words to toast their experience together.

The toast on her new season felt like a cute move that said “See? I can improve! I know I’m not perfect!” And we totally respected her for it. We love when a Bach can poke fun at their own shortcomings.

So call her awkward all that you want; Hannah Brown does not seem to care a lick. She knows who she is, she’s not ashamed of it and she’ll likely do more awkward and goofy stuff in the future. Like her season promo says, you don’t own her. Let her be her weird and wonderful self! It’s endearing.
