Hannah Brown: Top 3 reasons to give her a chance as the Bachelorette
3. She’s shedding the pageant stigma
For a little while during Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, it felt like all we were doing was talking pageants. It was certainly a relevant topic, as leading contestants Hannah Brown and Caelynn Miller-Keyes were not only former competitors at the Miss USA pageant, but they were also former friends turned enemies.
Caelynn said during the season that she felt Hannah was jealous of her success in pageants and that this attitude would partly explain why she was acting out. Hannah, of course, refuted this. Eventually, the girls seemed to bury the hatchet, but it was hard not to be sick of hearing about pageants by the end of the season.
Thankfully, The Bachelorette seemed to address this problem head on. Just check out the dreamy season promo, in which Hannah not-so-subtly sheds her pageant garb. The message here is obvious: Hannah wants to be seen as more than just a pageant girl. She is someone to be taken seriously.
While we would not be shocked to see a pageant-themed date this season (after all, we do have several drag queens set to make appearances), it already feels refreshing to kind of move past that part of Hannah Brown. We’re excited to learn what we don’t already know about her!
