3. Matt D. gets cut

NOOO! Matt D. was definitely cut too soon!

From the minute we got this guy’s intro video, we knew he was a winner. Every thing about him was so endearing and Twitter seemed to be universally in love with the dude. He spent his time talking about how he much he loves his deaf family members, how he was a Bachelorette super fan and how he already felt connected to Hannah Brown because of his deep love for the Crimson Tide. He seemed like a great fit for her!

Alas, Matt D. got the ax a la Becca Kufrin’s famously scorned contestant Grocery Store Joe. He, alongside other fan favorite contestant Joe “The Box King,” was sent home while the likes of three name John Paul Jones and sort of shady Luke P. got to stick around for another week. It all felt entirely unfair.

Every season of The Bachelorette will see some controversial contestant cutting, but this felt like it was coming at us a little early. Are we really emotionally prepared for the rest of Hannah Brown’s season? She better find her dang soul mate if she’s going to cut such an obvious sweetie like Matt D.! RIP our hearts.
