Colton isn’t the only lead who didn’t want to stay until the end of his season. Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe comments that she wishes she had bailed, too.

Recent Bachelor Colton Underwood famously bucked the format of the beloved reality series when he forewent a few overnight dates, sent 2 of his final 3 women packing and pursued the contestant, Cassie Randolph, who had turned him down. Thanks to Colton, we now have the phrase “I’d jump a fence for you.” But surely, in all these many seasons of The Bachelor, Colton can’t be the only season lead to crave a change of pace. On her popular Off The Vine podcast, former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe is jumping in to confirm this.

While Kaitlyn famously accepted a proposal from her former fiancée Shawn Booth, she heavily hinted that this was not the finale she had in mind. She commented that she had wanted to send one of her final contestants (Ben Higgins) home before she ultimately did on the series and went on to directly say to Colton that he had the right idea.

"I wanted to do what you did and be like, ’Screw it, I know who I’m picking.’"

Kaitlyn Bristowe might be the latest member of Bachelor Nation to confirm an underlying discontent with The Bachelor’s format, but we’re sure she can’t be Colton’s only sympathizer. Asking for contestants to get engaged at the end of the show—while seriously entertaining for us viewers—is asking a lot of two people who only just met a few weeks prior to the season finale.

This also wouldn’t be the only way that competitors feel pressure. Just days ago, fan favorite contestant Hannah Godwin was opening up about the overwhelming urge from the fan base to head on Bachelor in Paradise and date Bachelorette alum Blake Horstmann.

So while today it’s Colton and Kaitlyn complaining, we’re sure there’s more to come. The iconic fence jump has opened the door for new drama on The Bachelor and its spin-off series. Hannah Brown’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette may reach new levels of intensity if she, too, decides to take a move out of the Underwood Playbook and date by her own rules.
