The Bachelor’s next season is a long way off, but series alum Trista Sutter is already weighing in on who she doesn’t want to see in the mansion.

She may have starred all the way back in the first season of The Bachelorette, but lately Trista Sutter is dominating the news. She and her husband recently commented on how they likely won’t be letting their kids watch the show and now, in a Sirius XM interview with The Michelle Collins Show, Trista has gone on to voice her opinions on who should be chosen as the Bachelor.

"They need to pluck someone out of obscurity. Again, someone no one knows, someone who is someone who people want to watch."

Apparently, Trista has already brought this idea up with series creator Mike Fleiss.

This makes sense coming from a contestant like Trista. When we first met her, she was coming in at first runner up on season 1 of The Bachelor. These were the days before everyone was obsessively social media stalking all of the competitors and obsessing over every life detail. Heck. . . it was largely before social media was a thing at all!

Trista came to The Bachelor completely out of obscurity and fans were forced to essentially get to know her as her season aired. It follows that she would find this to be the winning formula.

She’s not alone in her sentiments. One look at the comment section for Accept This Rose will prove that there is a massive portion of The Bachelor fan base that would like to see someone from outside the franchise starring as the series lead. Maybe not someone famous like Khloé Kardashian (ha), but just someone that the fans haven’t already seen from every angle.

Other alums from The Bachelor have also voiced opinions similar to Trista’s. Take former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay, for example, who commented before the end of Colton’s season that she didn’t want any of his contestants to be chosen as the new season lead.
