A Georgia suitor from The Bachelorette has the sweetest story
You don’t know Luke Parker well yet, but you’ll get to know him on The Bachelorette. Read all about the sweet story that brought him on the show.
In case you haven’t heard, contestant Luke Parker (AKA Luke P, because this is a show with a thousand name repeats) is already becoming a bit of a fan favorite to win this season of The Bachelorette. Former Bachelor competitor Caelynn Miller-Keyes eyeballed him as her early pick and fans everywhere swooned when he came on After the Final Rose to tell Hannah Brown that she was “the only one that [he] wanted to be the next Bachelorette”
Well apparently that wasn’t just a smooth line. Luke Parker’s family tells The Gainesville Times that he really has had his heart set on Hannah ever since she appeared on Colton’s season of The Bachelor.
You can thank Luke’s sister-in-law for signing him up for The Bachelorette. Luke had recently gone through a bad breakup (sounds like one-on-one fodder to me!) and so she and her husband signed him up for the series without his knowledge.
Luke’s brother, Mike, says that Luke was adamant about who he was there for before casting was ever even finalized. “He didn’t really want to be on the show if it was anybody else other than (Brown).”
All around, Luke’s family says that the Bachelorette Hannah would be a perfect fit for him. They took careful note of past contestant’s qualities and she had immediately jumped out as someone they liked.
His sister-in-law commented that it was Hannah’s faith that really put her over the line for them, since Luke is a passionate member of his local church and frequently helps out with a college ministry.
"We didn’t know that it was going to Hannah B., but we hoped it would be. Just because of how she handled herself … And they showed on the season, when the girls were at the house, they showed her a couple of times where she was reading her Bible, and writing in her journal and stuff."
According to the family, Luke does not plan on staying quiet about his faith while he is on national TV. Rather, he sees the show as a platform to spread his gospel. He sees The Bachelorette as an opportunity from God.
This religious tone could certainly set Hannah’s season of The Bachelorette apart from others. It will be interesting to see how many, if any, conversations she has about faith while she leads the show.
