How is The Bachelor mansion looking after the 2018 California wildfires?
When we heard about the California wildfires, the future of The Bachelor mansion looked grim. Here’s a quick status update on how the property is doing.
The California wildfires were completely devastating. It feels like just yesterday that all we could read about in the news were stories of the many lives they had destroyed and the beautiful property they had permanently damaged. The Bachelor felt the pain intimately; the show’s beloved mansion was affected by the fires. You can read all those harrowing details here.
For a short time there, the fate of the show felt uneasy. Would filming resume at a different location as it had in the past? Would new seasons of the series be delayed? Fans across Bachelor Nation were worried not just for their favorite ABC show, but also for the family who actually owned the home.
Thankfully, we’ve just gotten an optimistic update on the situation. Check out this moving Instagram tribute from The Bachelor host Chris Harrison.
Chris comments that the mansion “never looked more beautiful” and we’re inclined to agree. Somehow this upcoming season of The Bachelorette feels extra special as we know the hardships the production crew must have faced in getting the grounds ready for operation.
The news of the mansion’s safety seems to come as a surprise to many fans, despite press from the show reaching out months ago to assure everyone that the main house had not been demolished. There were several comments that addressed fan concern, like “I thought the mansion burned down in the fire. I guess it didn’t! Yay!” and “Thought for sure it was a goner. So glad the mansion is still standing & beautiful as ever.”
While The Bachelor mansion stands noble and erect as ever, we do still wonder if there will be any changes to regular operations to accommodate the damage that was done on the property. We’re inclined to believe that there won’t be too many changes made to this new season of The Bachelorette, if any, considering that the time contestants spend in the mansion is actually fairly brief. Before you know it, Hannah Brown and her men will be jetting off to Timbuktu.
