You don’t have to be her #1 fan, but you do have to admit that Demi Burnett didn’t deserve that pacifier. Here’s what she has to say about the drama.

Nothing felt so deeply ironic as watching a contestant on The Bachelor shove a pacifier into her rival’s mouth shortly after calling that competitor “immature.” The vicious moment between competitors Courtney and Demi Burnett was hard to watch, and even the biggest Demi haters have to admit that things got real inappropriate real fast and most definitely crossed a line.

Some fans online were disturbed by how The Bachelor let an actual physical assault happen on stage. Others were concerned that this would set a precedent for what will be allowed on Women Tell Alls of the future.

Of course, Demi Burnett isn’t keeping silent on the matter. She later commented that she “immediately went to start swinging” and had to remind herself that The Bachelor isn’t Jerry Springer. She might get called out for immaturity, but she had a really good response to the madness: “I’m friends with literally every other person in the house. And I don’t need to give her any more of my time.”

ET was even bold enough to ask her if she would be filing assault charges against Courtney, as the incident happened before plenty of witnesses. No, Demi said. “She embarrassed herself enough tonight and that was all the pleasure I needed out of that.” Definitely better to move on!

Last night on Twitter, Demi definitely took a moment or two to address the drama between her and Courtney on The Bachelor Women Tell All. However, she also didn’t dwell on it completely, choosing instead to post jokes about the evening and even to chime in with support for other contestants.

Again, even the biggest Demi hater has to admit that this was probably the smartest move for her own sanity.

Now does all of this mean that Demi should have no blame in the Bachelor feud with Courtney? Ya girl does dig some drama, so to call her blameless would likely be silly. Still, it’s good to see her moving on and not focusing in on that moment specifically.

She’s right: throwing punches probably would have felt good, but it would be giving in to exactly what Courtney expected from her. That pacifier was a tool used in the hopes of fueling a fire; Demi decided to burn bright another way.

No one here is saying that Demi deserves to be the next Bachelorette or even that she’s the best thing to come out of this season of The Bachelor, but we can still get behind her response after the Women Tell All.
