The Bachelor Women Tell All: Why didn’t Elyse Dehlbom show up?
The Bachelor Women Tell All seemed to have everything. . . until you realize that a fan favorite contestant was missing. Where was Elyse Dehlbom?
At last night’s The Bachelor Women Tell All, it seriously felt like we heard from everybody. The show had even invited contestants who were axed on night one, a fact that did not go unmentioned by some of the more successful competitors. “Who is Jane??” was a popular funny tweet that was making the rounds. In all that chaos, though, we seemed to be missing something. Where was fan favorite Elyse Dehlbom?
While we would have absolutely loved to see Elyse facing Colton for the first time after that dramatic early departure, she had more important plans. The red head shared on her Instagram that she was attending her best friend’s wedding in Mexico.
She says that she “would have loved to reconnect with the cast.” And don’t worry, Bachelor Nation: Elyse is definitely not just saying this to cover her tracks. Cast member Onyeka Ehie confirmed to ET that the wedding was planned before The Bachelor ever even started filming. There’s no ill will between Elyse and the ABC series.
This is great news! Some fans had expressed concern on Twitter when they didn’t see the fan favorite in that large crowd of women. For weeks since her early exit, there has been an online campaign to see Elyse either headed to Paradise or taking on the role of Bachelorette. Her not being at the Women Tell All had felt, in the moment, like there was bad blood keeping her from staying active in the franchise.
At least now we know that not only was Elyse simply busy that night, but she had a truly great reason to not make an appearance. She was sticking to her commitments as a friend!
It really speaks to her character that she would put her best friend first and forego another appearance on national television. The Women Tell All could have given her the chance to speak out and defend her time on The Bachelor, but she opted for something more low-key instead.
Well, Bachelor Nation, did you notice that Elyse was missing last night? Or did you catch that Insta post just in time?
