Colton Underwood comments on what happens after the fence jump
The fence jump finally happened, but The Bachelor cut to black before things got good. Now, Colton Underwood is talking about what happened after the jump.
After what felt like actual years of waiting around, last night’s episode of The Bachelor *finally* gave us that glorious fence jump. The build up to it was just as dramatic as one would have thought: after revealing that her feelings didn’t match those of Colton Underwood, contestant Cassie opted to flag her own limo home.
We all know how Colton took the news. He cleared that fence, not even bothering to check for an “open” button like Chris Harrison did. Talk about emotion.
Unfortunately, The Bachelor loves to play games with us, and this tidbit of drama was no exception. The show gave us a “to be continued” ending that cut out right when the search for Colton started to pick up. So the question remains: what happened after Colton jumped the fence?
Thankfully, the Bach took to Us Weekly to shed some light on the situation. “You see that, obviously, the story goes on and the show goes on and I think that I had a realization, ‘Life is not fair’ to myself,” he says.
Colton goes on to confirm that he had a conversation with his own family and dad (who hopefully had some more comforting advice than Cassie’s dad), which led him to come to the conclusion that he owed it to the remaining women to “explore and see where to go from [there].’”
Hmm, we’re not so sure how to feel about that. As we’ve pointed out previously, it doesn’t actually feel very fair to put two other women through the emotional trauma of a season finale (or in the case of Hannah G, an entire Fantasy Suite date) if your heart wasn’t in it just a few days prior. You can read all about our grievances here.
We get it, Colton: you have real feelings. You were partial to Cassie before Fantasy Suites and once she broke things off you knew you needed to pursue her. However, stop things right there. Don’t keep stringing the other ladies along! You owe them an explanation more than you owe them a relationship.
Thankfully, we don’t have long to wait until we get to see how Colton ultimately addresses things with his remaining two contestants. Don’t miss the Women Tell All tonight and then be sure to catch that two-part finale next week!
