Jade and Tanner Tolbert: Miscarriage after Paradise pregnancy
Jade and Tanner Tolbert are opening up on YouTube about their emotional experience with miscarriage after their time on Bachelor in Paradise.
The world has been busy celebrating Jade and Tanner Tolbert lately. The Bachelor in Paradise couple recently revealed that they are expecting baby #2! Long before any Tolbert babies came along, though, apparently these two faced a massive trial early in their relationship: the couple has revealed that they had a miscarriage after accidentally getting pregnant in Paradise.
The news came in a round-about way as a result of the couple’s appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast Off The Vine. The Bachelor alum asks her guests for confessions, a move which led Jade and Tanner to finally feel comfortable with revealing their long-kept secret to the world.
Now, they’re laying it all out on their YouTube channel. Check out the video below.
Apparently the pregnancy was a result of the very first time Jade and Tanner Tolbert slept together in the Fantasy Suite. Both Tolberts commented that they never thought something so unlikely would happen to them. Tanner revealed that his first reaction may have been “Oh shit,” but that ultimately it brought them closer together.
Later in the video, Jade talked about how she didn’t know how to grieve when they first lost the baby. She shed some emotional tears, talking about the importance of “speaking her truth.”
Just when we thought we couldn’t love Jade and Tanner any more. . . man. What a bomb to drop.
These two are such an inspiration. Miscarriage is still something that isn’t talked about in the mainstream. Both Jade and Tanner Tolbert addressed how they once felt afraid to talk about it because of their spot in the public eye, and we can imagine that the pressures to “not mess up” must have felt enormous. Their coming out now is truly something spectacular.
This confession makes the couples from Bachelor in Paradise feel a little more real. It’s not all scripted, people; these are real relationships that face real trials. Hopefully Jade and Tanner’s story can inspire a little less judgment in all of us.
