She may be gone from The Bachelor, but she is not forgotten: Caelynn Miller-Keyes stays in our hearts as she opens up about her experience via Instagram.

Going on The Bachelor would be hard. Contestants have to really put all of themselves all on the line if they ever hope to walk away with that final rose. Toward the end of her run on Colton Underwood’s season, Caelynn Miller-Keyes may have become a controversial lead, but now that she’s made her exit, she’s providing the very best insight into the experience.

After that brutal goodbye, Caelynn took to Instagram to post this picture of herself holding a single red rose.

She reflected on the experience as a whole, expressing only gratitude that she was given the opportunity to compete. Specifically, she thanked Colton for challenging her and helping her to “[walk] away from all this a better person.”

Caelynn also gave a shout-out to her supportive family. Through all of the episodes of The Bachelor, it’s easy to forget that the contestants have people waiting back home for them. Last night introduced us to John, Caelynn Miller-Keyes’ incredible step-dad (and low-key the best character to come out of this season). It really put things in perspective when she acknowledged that it was folks like John who loved her through her Bachelor experience.

It won’t take long for the haters to jump on Instagram and claim that Caelynn’s post is just a plot to become the next Bachelorette. Obviously, there were other contestants on Colton’s season who thought she was around for the wrong reasons, and more than a few fans agree.

Still, call us happy optimists because we want to take her post at face value. This Insta pic was a truly moving testament to the good that this series can actually do for women.

Caelynn had a particularly empowering experience on the show, as she opened up about her sexual assault in college. We want to believe her when she says that Colton and the rest of the cast helped to make her a better person.

Whatever is next for Caelynn, you can bet your butt that we’ll be watching. She made for fascinating TV on this season of The Bachelor.
