Valentine’s Day might be behind us this year, but we all still need a little love in our lives! Thankfully, while Colton Underwood is busy navigating which of his Final Four are actually on the show for the right reasons, former Bachelor darling Ben Higgins has got romance all figured out.

Last month he teased that he was dating someone new, but he kept the details to himself. Obviously, we were all dying to learn more. It had been quite a while since his very public breakup with Lauren Bushnell and the guy really deserved a second shot at love.

Now, he’s Instagram official with his new lady! Check out this first pic of Ben and his girlfriend, Jessica Clarke.

We love Ben’s background story with Jessica, too. He says he “slid into her DMs” a few months ago and that’s how they connected. Talk about getting the best notification of your life.

Learning more about Ben’s new relationship makes his recent appearance on The Bachelor seem all the more relevant. While the series usually sees former leading men or women stopping by the mansion on night one, this year the show opted to wait until Denver for Colton to receive his romantic advice.

Besides simply being a resident of the same city, Ben was the perfect choice to stop by the show. Clearly, he’s in a really healthy place right now. Furthermore, he knows what it’s like to go through hell and come out clean on the other side. His break-up with Lauren Bushnell was drawn out and televised in the most painfully awkward way possible. Ben Higgins knows exactly what it’s like to explore a romance in the public eye.
