This season of The Bachelor has been surprisingly dramatic, but something has been missing. What the heck happened to Colton’s two-on-one??
This season of The Bachelor has been moving so fast that we almost missed this tiny detail: there hasn’t been a two-on-one! Colton Underwood’s time on the show has been packed full of rivalries, but none of them have made it to that most highly anticipated, dramatic date.
Let’s look back on the season, shall we? We came in hot with Catherine making waves on night one (you should really read her thoughts on all that here, btw). Soon, Demi and Tracy stole the spotlight as they duked it out over cougars. Then, Caelynn and Hannah B. brought their pageant drama to The Bachelor with a she-said-she-said feud. Soon it was Onyeka v. Nicole, Tayshia v. Caelynn, Cassie v. Kirpa. . . seriously, does anyone in Colton’s mansion actually like each other?
So with all of the rivalries, why didn’t we get a two-on-one?
Weirdly enough, the answer might be that there were too many feuds to settle on one blowout date. In other seasons where no true rivalry has emerged, The Bachelor has chosen to skip out on this season staple. Maybe it makes sense, then, that with so many rivalries it would be better to showcase all the smaller fights in real time rather than forcing two girls to duke it out.
Nevertheless, we miss the two-on-one! Let’s be real, we all watch The Bachelor primarily for the drama and a season is at its dramatic height when one girl gets sent packing and the other lives to scrap another day. Sure, it would require more time to focus specifically on one feud, but we’re willing to sacrifice a little if it means that things get even crazier for one brief, glorious date.
At this point, with hometowns right around the corner, we’re probably in trouble when it comes to the two-on-one. There’s no time left to score this dramatic face-off. Until next season, I guess.
Did you miss this date? Or do you like The Bachelor better without it? Let us know in the comments!
