Tayshia Adams spent last night’s episode helping Colton sort out who was on the show for the right reasons. But what were her own reasons?
I won’t lie: I’m totally partial to Tayshia Adams on this season of The Bachelor. She’s charming and effortlessly cool, she seems to always tell it like it is (seriously, can we get her some praise for calling out Onyeka?), and it’s great to see literally any woman over 25 represented on the series.
It totally sucks, then, to learn that while Tayshia was busy last night calling out other women for not being on The Bachelor for the right reasons, she might not be on the show for the right reasons herself.
Us Weekly recently reported that Tayshia was exclusively seeing her ex, Chase Olswang, right up until the day before The Bachelor began filming. It was a very serious relationship, with the couple even talking openly about engagement and marriage. They reportedly dated for 10 months and Chase was in love with the Bach beauty.
This isn’t to say that Tayshia has one of those famed “secret boyfriends” back home. She and Olswang are no longer together. Still, Us Weekly went on to confirm that the two have been in contact since Tayshia got home from filming. Could this indicate that she’s still open to him, whether or not she took home Colton’s final rose?
While it’s still easy to pull for Tayshia on The Bachelor, it sucks thinking that maybe she had a distraction the whole time she was on the show. Fans across Bachelor Nation have started an online campaign to get Tayshia cast as the next Bachelorette, and this sort of sketchy decision making would certainly put a damper on her being chosen.
Honestly, I’m holding out hope that Tayshia will eventually outright address these tiny details of her relationship with Chase during some time spent with Colton. Maybe she already has and the series didn’t choose to show that scene? We’re really hoping that she comes into these final episodes totally open and clean.
