Colton Underwood talks fence-jumping Bachelor moment
What led to that now infamous fence-jumping moment on The Bachelor? Colton Underwood opens up about what went down.
Every season of The Bachelor has *that* moment. You know the one. It’s the scene Chris Harrison has been teasing for months, like Arie’s dramatic breakup with Becca.
In Colton’s season, we already know it’s the now infamous “fence jumping scene.” In a moment of (Panic? Passion? Anxiety?) something, Colton jumps a set fence to run off into the dark woods. What brought him to that point? We’re only one episode in so it’s kind of hard to speculate right now. But judging by the sound bites from the ladies on the show, this was definitely a real turning point for the season.
In an interview with ET Online, Colton is finally talking about that emotional moment. The biggest shocker revealed? Apparently the show was without a leading man for a short amount of time.
Colton claimed that he needed time for himself, so he simply jumped the fence and did what any Colorado boy would do by fending for himself out in the woods. He was gone long enough that production had to look for him and it was finally Chris Harrison who brought him back.
Is this moment going to be the series’ “most dramatic” ever? Probably not. But it certainly does look like a high stakes scenario and it will be interesting to see if Colton talked on camera about potentially quitting the show on the spot.
Wouldn’t that be really something, though? What would be the protocol if a Bachelor truly decided to walk out on the show? I’m sure there must be contracts in place to prevent this but it wouldn’t stop a leading man from having a full-on hissy fit.
What do you think? Do you have any ideas on what drove Colton over the edge and made him jump the fence? We’re dying to find out!
