Colton Underwood and Tia Booth prove that ex’s can be friends

Colton and Tia may no longer be an item, but that doesn’t mean they’re done with each other. Check out what Tia posted before last night’s premiere.

It finally happened! The Bachelor season 23 premiered last night after what felt like an eternity. Colton’s opening episode may not have been quite as dramatic as those of some past seasons, but he proved himself to be a very sweet leading man who was just excited to be there.

And we aren’t the only ones who thought he came off great; Colton’s Bachelor in Paradise ex, Tia Booth, had nothing but kind words for him going in to the premiere. In a sweet but gentle roasting on Instagram, she posted “Hey @coltonunderwood remember that time you wore a sleeveless sweatshirt at the beach and we realized we were 0% compatible and solely meant to be supportive friends?… Well here’s my support. Now keep your damn shirt on and go find you a gal 🌹.”

Love that! Tia is going out of her way to prove that she still thinks Colton is a good guy and that he deserves to shoot his shot on The Bachelor. . . even if she does have a lingering joke or two about how he handled things on the beaches of paradise.

This is really refreshing. Bachelor Nation sees a lot of feuds; just ask Arie Luyendyk and Jef Holm or catch even a moment of the tense showdown between Catherine and Onyeka on last night’s episode. It’s nice to see that one franchise couple was able to rise above the pettiness and actually grow a friendship.

It gives us a lot of hope for Colton’s future on the show. It’s great to know that he can part with ladies without invoking bitter feelings, that he understands that women are worth more than just a romantic relationship and that the most mature men know how to leave the past behind with grace.

While this could mean less drama over the course of the season, it could also mean that he has a better chance at finding true love and happiness. We hope that Colton’s reputation continues to stay sparkling after his season is over.
