1. He’s a virgin

This fact is kind of the big kahuna. During Becca’s season of The Bachelor, Colton came out as a virgin. The moment was riddled with tension. In a show that relies heavily on physical connection and flirtation, it must have taken a lot of courage for Colton to reveal that he hadn’t yet done the deed.

Bachelor super fans will remember that Colton isn’t actually the first virgin to lead the show. Sean Lowe, Bachelor of season 17, was famously celibate after age 24 due to his religious convictions. Lowe has commented recently that he feels the series is making too big of a deal out of Colton’s virginity. Can you really blame The Bachelor though? In a mansion where there’s so much kissing going on and the final dates end with a Fantasy Suit, it’d be impossible for the subject not to come up. Virginity sells.

It will be interesting to see how the virginity storyline plays out for Colton in season 23. The season trailer revealed that a few girls are at least intrigued, if not outright concerned, about his status. Still, my heart wants to believe that the right girl won’t care at all. Maybe she’ll even find it admirable or endearing!

How will this affect the Fantasy Suites? Colton has insisted that there are “other things to do” there, but will that lower the drama of the final episodes? Only time will tell. In the meantime, kudos to Colton for staying true to who he is.
