Bachelor Pad star Erica Rose gets engaged at her daughter’s birthday party

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from Erica Rose, but life is good for the newly-engaged Bachelor alum.

If you don’t remember Erica Rose, you’re not a die-hard Bachelor fan. Or maybe you weren’t born when she was a contestant on Bachelor season 9 and the Bachelor Pad season 3 (video below).  Those of us who do remember Erica may recall she wore a tiara on both shows —and now she has a prince of her own.

Erica, who has a one-year-old daughter, Holland, finally met the man of her dreams — Charles Sanders, an insurance adjuster for the Federal Emergency Management Agency

A family celebration

No, the proposal didn’t take away from Holland’s big day. From the sounds of it, the proposal just added more joy to the celebration. And Erica’s massive pear-shaped diamond engagement ring is pretty spectacular, too!

Erica told E! News that Charles proposed in front of all of their friends and family — he even asked Holland’s permission. Of course, she’s one and probably had no idea what was going on, but it’s a special moment that the couple will be able to tell her about in the years to come.

“He didn’t want to take attention away from Holland but wanted all of our family and friends to be there so he took me outside and did it,” Erica told E! “Then we came back in and did her birthday cake and put a baby diamond ring on there for her. He is so amazing with Holland and it meant so much to me that he asked her permission to marry me too and presented her with her own tiny diamond ring.”

Erica’s fiancee, Charles, is not Holland’s father — that honor goes to Galen Gentry. Erica started dating Galen in 2015 and they split after Holland was born in September 2016.

Although Galen is still in Holland’s life, Erica has moved on. However, the new man in her life, Charles, isn’t someone she just met. She tells E! News she’s known Charles since high school but when they reconnected last year, they quickly left the friend zone.

“Holland and I moved back to Houston in November and Galen is still in the picture as her father, but we are no longer together. Charles and I have known each other since high school. We ran into each other at one of our family’s charity events for a Kentucky derby party and we literally have been inseparable since.”
