23. Ian Thompson

Ugh. This guy. Ian may have been an early front runner, but he quickly ruined his chances by performing a spectacular, and totally gross pout. When Bachelorette, Kaitlyn Bristowe, didn’t give him the shot he thought he deserved, he (figuratively) stomped his foot and poked out his lip, and went on to show his true colors.

Ian didn’t like the way a particularly grueling group date was going, and instead of acting like a gentleman, he proceeded to insult Kaitlyn, and declare his superiority to the whole matter. He claimed, “I’m too deep a thinker, I’m too self-aware. I’m very different than every single other person that’s here. I went to Princeton, Deerfield, and that’s what I have to offer.”

Deciding he was too good for the “shallow” and promiscuous Bristowe, he ruined the entire night, forcing her to confront him and then summarily dismiss him. She pretty much told him off, shutting him down in a mic drop moment, the likes of which this show has rarely seen before. Bristowe famously broke boundaries in the show, and her putting Ian in his place was just the start of it.

In a turn too ironic for even The Bachelor’s standards, he left us with this parting nugget, “I need to have sex.” Maybe they didn’t teach him how to speak to a woman at Princeton and Deerfield.
