Vanessa and Nick’s engagement was very heartwarming, and the ring is giving a lot of women a little diamond envy, but why did the ring seem so familiar?

Out of the hundreds and thousands of different styles of engagement rings, it seems Nick chose something very unique and fancy. But not so fast. Apparently, this is the same ring that another Bachelor couple exchanged.

On season 12 of The Bachelorette this same ring was exchanged when Robby Hayes proposed to Jojo Fletcher. Don’t believe me? Claudia Oshry on Instagram was the first one to notice this, and shared a picture of the two rings side-by-side:

Even though the sunning rock seemed to be a custom designed with intricate details, it turns out that it is an exact replica. This could to be due to the fact that jeweller Neil Lane is the same designer for all of the Bachelor jewels.

More than likely Nick didn’t pick out the ring knowing that another man got down on one knee with the same jewellery. He probably just picked out the biggest and fanciest ring he was presented, so Vanessa couldn’t refuse his offer of marriage.

According to Bustle, the ring isn’t paid for out of pocket by the Bachelor, but the bill is footed by ABC. Additionally, if the couple stays together for more than two years, they get to keep the ring. But, if they breakup before the two-year mark, the ring goes back to ABC.

Now, if the new couple can fake it for two years, then they have a solid investment with that chunk of carbon. Considering they live in different countries, it seems pretty easy to be able to fake it. But hopefully they don’t have to pretend to be in love, and can just be in love, for real.
