During the live finale ‘After the Final Rose,’ viewers couldn’t help but notice the awkward tension that seemed to be present between Nick and Vanessa.

Before the proposal, everyone was worried Vanessa might say no to Nick, leaving him heartbroken again. But luckily, she said ‘yes’! The next concern was if they would still be together at the live finale. Again, they were still together – well, at least they said they were.

A lot of people have been speculating that the couple isn’t actually together anymore becuase of their awkward interactions during After the Final Rose. Although they were saying nice things about each other, the old saying goes, actions speak louder than words. And the body language between the two was a lot of side-eye and stink-faces.

Fans took to twitter to point out the awkward interactions between the newly engaged couple on Monday night:

Now it may be a lull in the conversation, but it seems more like they’re trying not to call the other out for their lies while live on national television. It would be unfortunate if the two were playing it up for the finale, when they are actually broken up.

An uncomfortable Chrissy Teigen was also used to describe the (lack of) chemistry between the two during the finale. Maybe they both just have mean resting faces when they’re listening.

The couple seemed to be open and honest about their relationship so far, so it seems weird if they were lying about the actual status of their relationship. A lot of Bachelor/ette couples take the fairy tale approach, and pretend things are all sunshine and rainbows.

Nick and Vanessa seem to be taking a realistic approach, and are being honest about the imperfections in their relationship. Or are they?
